Dental implants are the latest introduction in the field of dentistry that has revolutionized the way that we think about the treatment for the replacement of teeth. Recent advances in implant technology (within last 10 years) have lead to their current popularity. The major advancement is the increase in predictability of results. Long term success rates of implants have made them a viable treatment option, it is safe, effective and makes it possible to achieve perfect aesthetic and functional effects.

Short time ago millions of people with missing teeth could only have a bridge done or removable denture, now they have choice. We don't have to prepare the adjacent teeth thereby creating margins that are more susceptible to decay. Although we can create a bridge with a couple of implants or just place single implant with a crown (a cap).
Removable prosthesis can be dramatically stabilized and retained by implants. The mandibular denture is the one least favored by patients and its stability and retention is enhanced greatly when it is clipped onto a metal bar that connects several implants in the anterior mandible or onto several single implants with special connection parts.
